Prime Minister of Azad Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, has condemned further restrictions on two political parties by the Indian government in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Responding to the decision of the Indian government to impose restrictions on both factions of the Muslim Conference in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said that India has snatched away all fundamental rights of the residents of occupied Kashmir. By imposing restrictions on writing, speaking, assembly, and political parties, India is closing all peaceful avenues for Kashmiris and leaving only the path of armed struggle for them. He said that India had closed all democratic paths for Kashmiris in 1987 and forced them into armed struggle by resorting to violence against them.

Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq said that India’s democracy and secularism are only superficial for the world to see. Attacks are carried out on the sacred places of all religious minorities by the government in India, and the land of India has become narrow for them. India has not only deprived the people of occupied Kashmir of their fundamental democratic right to self-determination but has also taken away all their personal freedoms. The international community should take note of India’s serious violations of human rights, crimes against humanity, and genocidal actions against Kashmiris. The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said that no oppression or tyranny of India can cool down the passion for freedom of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The Azad Kashmir government, in consultation with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, will expose India’s tyranny and violations of human rights in occupied Kashmir through relevant forums with a coherent and comprehensive strategy.
