The meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, was held on Thursday. During the meeting, a resolution was passed expressing gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan for their decision to observe February 5 as a day of solidarity with the Kashmiri people. The resolution reaffirmed the unbreakable bond between Kashmiris and Pakistanis, emphasizing that the people of Jammu and Kashmir consider Pakistan their ultimate destination and are willing to make any sacrifice for its integrity and defense.
The resolution strongly condemned the false statements, baseless allegations, and threats issued by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. It highlighted that the people of Azad Kashmir deeply love Pakistan and that Azad Kashmir is progressing at a much faster pace compared to the Indian-occupied Kashmir. It pointed out that in all economic, educational, and social indicators, Azad Jammu and Kashmir stands ahead of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. While the people of Azad Kashmir enjoy fundamental human rights and personal freedoms, the people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to be deprived of their basic rights.
The resolution also appreciated the role of the National Apex Committee in Pakistan, acknowledging its efforts in uniting the entire nation against terrorism. It emphasized that the people of Pakistan stand firmly behind the courageous armed forces and law enforcement agencies in their mission to eliminate terrorism.
Furthermore, the resolution paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in defending the geographical borders, ensuring security, and maintaining peace in both Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
