A meeting of the governing body of Azad Jammu and Kashmir medical colleges was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. The meeting was attended by the most senior minister, Colonel (Retired) Waqar Ahmed Noor; Minister for Public Works, Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq; Sardar Hassan Ibrahim; Chief Secretary of Azad Kashmir, Daud Muhammad Barich; Principal Secretary, Zafar Mahmood Khan; Secretary of Health, Brigadier Irfan Ahmed Khan; principals of medical colleges; and, via video link, Minister for Public Health, Nisar Ansar Abdali, along with other relevant officials. The Principal of Mirpur Medical College provided a detailed briefing to the participants.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir stated that all issues of the medical colleges would be resolved. He emphasized that the shortage of faculty in the medical colleges would be addressed on a priority basis. He instructed the relevant officials to ensure that merit is upheld in all circumstances so that no one has any grounds for complaint.
