Under the presidency of Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, a meeting of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock was held. The meeting was attended by Senior Minister Colonel (Retired) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Minister of Agriculture Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Minister of Communications Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Minister of Finance Abdul Majid Khan, Sardar Muhammad Hussain, Principal Secretary, and the Director General of the Agriculture Department. Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Aamir Mahmood Marza, provided a detailed briefing on various sectors including agriculture, livestock, dairy development, small dams, horticulture, irrigation, and other related areas. Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq stated that there is great potential in the agriculture and livestock sectors in Azad Kashmir. People should be encouraged towards farming, especially focusing on cultivating fruit-bearing plants. He emphasized that attention should be given to these sectors not only to enable people to save money but also to create employment opportunities through their development. Agriculture is an extremely important sector for the state, and there is a need to attract people to this field. The Prime Minister directed to provide maximum facilities to the farmers and urged officers to work in the field and initiate projects that benefit the people. He stressed the need to take steps to attract people towards agriculture and livestock. The Prime Minister instructed the Secretary of Agriculture and Livestock to present reports on the department’s activities and completed projects of the past five years within a week. He emphasized the need to work extensively in the livestock sector and to spend the available budget for the welfare of the people. The Prime Minister said that we need to focus on our agriculture and teach farmers scientific methods of cultivation so that they can become self-sufficient in crops. He advocated for promoting poultry farming and providing interest-free loans especially for dairy farms so that young people pay attention to it and not only benefit themselves but also become a source of support for their families. The Prime Minister emphasized working with dedication and focusing on these sectors to bring progress according to the demands of the modern era and make the people happy.
