Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, has stated that India’s democracy and secularism are the biggest fraud in the eyes of the world. There is neither religious freedom for minorities in India, nor are their religious places safe. India, claiming to be a champion of democracy, has deprived the people of Kashmir of their democratic rights and right to self-determination for the past 77 years. Republic Day in India is a black day for us. India has forcibly occupied Kashmir. Over the past seven decades, India has maintained a market of oppression and tyranny in occupied Kashmir through undemocratic means. The prevailing black laws in occupied Kashmir are explicitly against democratic principles. What has happened in occupied Kashmir since August 5, does that resemble the actions of a democratic country? The Kashmir freedom movement is a movement for peace in Asia. There is no place for minorities in India. Minorities living in India are afraid of extremist rulers. The actions of destroying the Babri Masjid in government leadership, attacking the sacred place of Sikhs, the Golden Temple, and burning Christian churches every day are not secularism but Hindu supremacist ideologies, according to which India is only a country for religiously fanatic Hindus. In his special statement, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir said that after August 5, 2019, the lives of the Kashmiri people have been transformed into a prison. India’s action on August 5 is a serious violation of United Nations agreements. Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq said that he appreciates the enthusiasm for freedom of the Kashmiris and pays tribute to the millions of martyrs who have kept the flame of the movement alive with their warm blood and have not let the spirit of freedom cool despite difficult circumstances and challenges. Kashmir can never be a part of India. For the freedom movement, Kashmiris have sacrificed their third generation. They thanked all the countries, institutions, and organizations that raised their voices for the Kashmiris. He said that the world has promised to give Kashmiris the right to self-determination. According to the agreements of the United Nations, Kashmiris want their fundamental right of self-determination, for which they will continue their struggle until the last drop of blood.
